Dear Gary,

1800 NC census index shows John, John sen., and Peter Hunsucker in Burke
County, north of Rutherford Co.

1810 NC census has George Hunsacker - Moore Co.
                                George Hunsucker - Burke Co.
                                 John Hunsucker - Burke Co.
also William Huntsucker - Moore Co.

1830 NC census George Hunsacker - Moore Co.
                         George Hunsacker - Moore Co.
                         John Hunsacker - Moore Co
                         William Hunsacker - Moore Co.
                         William Hunsacker - Montgomery Co.
                         Abraham Hunsucker - Moore Co.
                         George Hunsucker - Moore Co.
                         Neill Hunsucker - Montgomery Co.
                         William Hunsucker - Montgomery Co.

I am not sure this will be helpful, but this is the best I could so with the
resources available. Burke is the only one of these counties that might be
considered Western NC.

I made copies of the index pages and will post them off Friday.  The 1800
will give you the family composition, while the other two will show you the
page number for the census record.  I didn't locate the 1820 index, though I
am reasonably sure the library had it.

As to immigrants arrivals, our little library has the following.  I pass the
titles along just as a guide.  I am confident there are a number of others.

1.  "Passenger Arrivals at the Port of Charleston, 1820-1829", by Brent H.
Holcomb.

This is probably too late to be useful to you, but I did note a William Allen
arriving via Brig Somoset, age 30, farmer from Belfast, 26 February 1826.

2.  "New World Immigrants", Vol. I and II, edited by Michael Tepper.

3.  "Emmigrants to Pennsylvania", also by Tepper

4.  "Passengers to America", Tepper

5.  "Passengers from Ireland 1811-1817"    also Tepper, I believe. I forgot
to note the author.  Using the index, I checked for a William Allen, but
found none.

So, there you have it.  Hope is serves some purpose.

Have a happy Thanksgiving.  To quote a radio personality, "Be well, do good,
and keep in touch".

All the best, Dwight
