Dear Dwight,
Thanks for the Ragsdale printout. You correctly included my Elizabeth
Ragsdale(the one married to Abner Camp). I was just starting to work on
Ragsdale line when I was referred to you by Doug, so you've given me a
good start. As I have mentioned before, most of my info came from Betsey
Dykes' efforts which she tells me came from Camp-Kemp book and some
independent efforts of her own. Iknow she has been to Georgia in search
of Abner Camp data. She was also close to family sources in Texas who
personally knew Abner's daughter, Martha. Nonetheless, what I had was
very incomplete. Under US mail, I am sending you a copy of the front
page of the Ragsdales of America, summer 1997 which mentions the
refererence Godfrey Ragasdale from England to Henrico County,
Virgniniia: One Documented Line of Descent Covering Three Hundred
Twenty-Seven Years in America by Caroline(Nabors) Skelton, c. 1969, soft
bound, postpaid. Order from Mary Skelton Carpenter, 201 Smith Street,
Hartwell, Georgia 30643. Telephone(706) 376-4588. I haven't seen or
ordered it yet.
In the same front page is mention of Al Ragsdale website and E-mail
address for Ragsdale database.
As I mentioned to you, I have subscribed to this newsletter but this is
all I have so far and it came from Macy.
By the way, your files wouldn't happen to have the details of
immigration(date,ship, etc.) of Godfrey Ragsdale I born 1615, E.
Bridgeport, Nottinghamshire, England died 4/18/ 1644 Henrico County,
Virgnia, would they? If so, I'd appreciate that info.
Doug, I'm sending a copy of the above, to you as well.
Have a cool yule! Gary
