Subject: Hunsicker family research

     Thank you Adrian, for your email response.  I will be glad to send you my
family group sheets - do you want just Hunsicker?  I am descended from
Samuel Hunziker Family of Switzerland, Canton, Aargau near the village of Muhen.
Following the 30-year War in Europe, Hans Jakob Hunsicker (Hunziker), son
of Samuel Hunziker, Jr., left Switzerland and settled in Wolfersheim, Germany.
Then it was under Bavarian rule, now located in Saarland, near Blieskastel.
Hans Jakob Hunsicker's son, Hans Thomas Hunsicker, along with his wife,
Anna Gertraud (Brengel), and children left Germany and emigrated from Rotterdam,
Holland to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The ship was called "Phoenix" and
arrived at the Port of Philadelphia on October 1, 1754.  Also registered
with Hans Thomas Hunsicker was his son Daniel Hunsicker who was of age.  Their
European residence was listed as Wolfersheim near Zweibruecken, Rheinland
Pfalz, Germany.  The source of information for this reference is GS Book
974.8C4fg. Vol. 16, page 116.  Page is titled "Hunsaker Families Emigrating
From Rotterdam, Holland to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1711-1806*.

     I am thence, descended from Daniel Hunsicker, thence Jacob Hunsicker thence
Sarah Ann Hunsicker who married Joshua A. Reed in 1825, Pickaway County,
Ohio and who settled first in Eagleville, Harrison Co., Missouri thence Inavale,
Webster County, Nebraska.  Joshua Reed died in Eagleville, Missouri in 1897
and Sarah Ann (Hunsicker) Reed died in 1915 in Webster County, Nebraska and
is buried in the cemetery in Red Cloud, Webster County, Nebraska.  I am
further descended from George Luther Reed, Sr. and Ida Larissa (Hale) Reed, thence
daughter Bertha Ann Reed who married James W. Burcham, Sr. on February 28,
1913 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.

     There is a very active Hunsicker Reunion each year in Red Cloud, Nebraska,
which takes place in August and I generally attend the reunion, even though
there aren't any Hunsickers still living in Webster County, Nebraska - but
we all meet there from all parts of the USA and Germany.  Many of our German
cousins which are descended from the same line, some of whom still live in
Wolfersheim, make the trip annually to Red Cloud.  There are still some
Hunsicker cousins living in Harrison County, Missouri and Pickaway County,
Ohio.  I know there are still some in and around Allentown, Pa. where Hans
Thomas Hunsicker and Daniel settled.  Daniel eventually left Pennsylvania
and lived and died in Virginia near Fredericksburg, Frederick County, Virginia.
Jacob Hunsicker was married to Eve Parrett, in Rockingham County, Virginia
March 2, 1802.  Eve Parrett was the daughter of Revolutionary War Veteran,
Samuel Parrett, son of Frederick Parrett and Barbara Edwards of Virginia.
Frederick Parrett, it is said came from Switzerland and married Barbara
Edwards in 1739 in Virginia - although this latter bit of information I
have not been able to substantiate.

    I have been to German and Switzerland many times and have collected much
research on the the families there.  I speak, read and write German, so
that helps greatly.

     Before I leave the Hunsicker subject, please let me know how much information
you want me to send you.  We, the Hunsicker Family Reunion Group, have put together
a Hunsicker family book with one supplement.  Perhaps I could copy them for you.  Please
let me know.

     I have accummulated significant amount of Hunsicker information on families in
Pennsylvania not directly connected to Hans Thomas Hunsicker, but no doubt
somewhere in Switzerland they have common ancesters.  If you wish, I could also
provide this information as well if you are accummulating data on this family for
dissemination?  Please let me know.
