Phil:

Thanks for the information. Your information seems to agree with what
Jeanette Headrick ( djhead@alltel.net ) posted in SC Families
 www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/8679/sc.htm )

I also found numerous Nicholas Hunsakers on the LDS Ancestor Search
 http://32.96.111.13/Search/ancestorsearchresults.asp )

If you haven't seen the above, you might want to check it out. Thanks again.
Let me know if you come across any new information and I will do the same.

Ray...I have done a limited research on the Hunsuckers since my
ggranfather Christopher hunsinger had probably changed his name from Hunsucker in the
1830's... Nicholas is a possibility for his father...What I have garnered so
far is that Nicholas 1-2-3 on the 1790 Spartanburg census, married a
Catherine and had sons James, 1810, and Andrew J, 1817 in SC. When Nicholas
apparently died shortly after 1817, Catherine and boys moved to Catoosa
County, GA. where Catherine remarried a Burgess Smith. When she died, James
took her remains to be buried in the Spartanburg Hunsucker burial ground,
which I have not found...James and Andrew had many children and remained in
N.GA...A Cathy Harris wrote a Civil War history about James, who was a
Union sympathizer you can find in the Washington Memorial Library in Macon, GA.
It's in the NW GA Hist and Gen Soc  issue of April 1972, Vol 4 , No. 2...
There is a Nicholas in Burke County, NC tax record in 1780-81 and much
Hunsucker history in Moore County, NC...Nicholas was a Hessian and most of
the Hunsuckers in Moore County were loyalists...I believe he was related to
this group but haven't connected that yet....Good luck...Phil White.

Looking for parents, siblings, wife and children of Nicholas HUNSUCKER
shown in Pendleton Co., SC in 1790 Census (1 2 3 - - ). Lived next to James Reed
and Ephraim Jackson. Particularly interested in any Hill connections.
