It has been written in a Hunsicker publication on Valentine Hunsicker's
genealogy (he  was probably the first Hunsicker immigrant and settled in
Pennsylvania) that Hunsicker means "SECT OF THE HUNS".  I have been to
Switzerland several times doing research on my Hunsicker (Hunziker) line and
have also be told the same thing in Switzerland by distant members of the
family - I speak, read and write German, including the old script.  I'm
descended from Hans Thomas Hunsicker, who came with his family through the
Port of Philadelphia on the ship Phoenix in 1752.  Regards, Jim Burcham
