ILLINOIS STATEWIDE MARRIAGE INDEX ONLINE

In a move that has delighted researchers with Illinois roots, the Illinois
State Archives, in a cooperative effort with the Illinois State
Genealogical Society, has begun posting the Illinois Statewide Marriage
Index Online. Although the project is not complete, there are 1 million
marriages (2 million names) from the years prior to 1901 currently
available in this huge project. A list of counties, with years available is

The project is also in need of volunteers. For more information on

I looked at it briefly. Looks nice. One can search statewide as well
as by county. Unfortunately, the list shows Woodford county as not
being done. However, I did do a search "statewide" and found quite
a few Adens listed!

Am interested in all the wonderful things your wife discovered on
her trip to Illinois...I'm still trying to plan a trip to Salt Lake City!
